Read Isaiah 53: 5 - 6
By Sam and Sue Stack

Alas and did my Savior bleed and did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head for sinners such as I?

Was it for sins that I have done He suffered on the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown! And love beyond degree!

But drops of grief can ne’er repay the debt of love I owe;
Here, Lord I give myself away – ‘tis all that I can do

As we live our daily lives our actions affect the lives of those we come in contact with every day. It is a sobering thought to realize that we impact people often times without even knowing it. I am sure that when Isaac Watts penned the words to this hymn he never thought about the millions that would be impacted by his words over the course of 3 centuries. Can you imagine having an impact on people 300 years from now?

A thirty year old blind woman attending a revival service in 1851, heard the words to this song and gave her life to the Lord. Her name was Fanny Crosby, who went on to become the greatest hymn writer of her time. Many of her songs are impacting lives today.

Applying Truth as an Individual
Do you live your life aware of the impact your actions have on others? Do you intentionally act in a way that points others to Christ? Pray today that your actions will impact your world for the glory of Christ.

Applying the Truth as a ChurchDo the actions Pleasant Valley takes as a church impact our community in a way that points them to our Savior? Do our activities point our community to Christ? Pray today that we as a church will impact our world for the glory of Christ.
