Read 2 Timothy 1:7-12
By Brad and Rebecca Cox
In this letter, Paul is trying to encourage Timothy to continue sharing God’s word unashamedly, even in the midst of strong opposition. Satan will not fail to pull out all his forces when a follower of Christ is making advances, but it will serve us well to maintain a focus for the future as Paul did. God’s word is ultimate truth, and in that alone we can believe and be convinced of His promises of eternity when we devote ourselves to drawing others to Him. He is more than worthy of our absolute obedience!
Through the Holy Spirit, believers are equipped for the journey with:
- Power or strength in difficult circumstances or situations.
- Love to display to all.
- A Sound Mind to understand how to use spiritual gifts for His greater glory.
Applying the Truth as an Individual
Are you personally living a life that reflects Christ, regardless of your environment or circumstances? Would others agree with your answer?Have you ever found yourself in the midst of persecution? If so, did you push forward unashamedly for Christ?
Applying the Truth as a Church
Do you feel that Pleasant Valley as a whole is unashamed to spread the gospel?
Are you personally playing a part in helping Pleasant Valley spread the gospel?
