Read James 1:22
ByJason Wade
Mark Richt, head football coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, said that if the team executes, they will win. The Dawgs have everything they need to win. The coaches prepare the game plan. Each player has a playbook. The team has practice all week. On game day, if every player executes the plays, Georgia wins.
As Christians, we can win. We have everything we need. God is our coach. He’s given us the game plan in the playbook, the Bible. How do we execute the plays? Today’s Bible verse holds the answer. Obedience. We have heard the Word. We must obey it. Do what It says. I Cor 12:31 tells us that God will show us a more excellent way. Execution of the Word, obedience, will lead us to excellence for the glory of God.
Applying the Truth as an Individual
Do you know the playbook, the Bible?
Do you execute the plays, obey it?
Applying the Truth as a Church
PVBC has heard the Word preached and taught. Do we obey it?
Isn’t it easier when we say: “Yes, Lord.”?
Great devotion Jason! Great verse!
ReplyDeleteI know the frustration I have when the Dawgs don't execute the plays right... I can't begin to imagine God's frustration with me when I don't execute, or when I have just totally ignored the plays. And I don't just play on Saturdays. I'll keep practicing! Thank the Lord for His GOODNESS and GRACE!
