Read Matthew 11:25-30
By Becky Jordan
Jesus mentions two kinds of people in His prayer: the “wise” - arrogant in their own knowledge and the “babe” - humbly open to receive the truth of God’s word.
We all keep ourselves busy! In fact we think it’s a contest to see who can stay the busiest. It’s like we are not important or valuable without having “stuff” going on. But Matthew 11: 28 tells us “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
We don’t have to keep up with the world because Jesus freed us from sin and the bondage of proving our worth. All He wants is for us to allow Him to have full control in forming us into His image.
Applying the Truth as an Individual
Are you wise in your own knowledge, or do you seek the truth in child like faith realizing that only God holds all the answers?
Applying the Truth as a Church
Do we as a church value ourselves on how busy we are?
Do we at PVBC focus more on “stuff” instead of what’s on the other side of our church walls?
Are we going to allow God to conform us into the image of His Son?
