Other Websites to Help Us Win
As I study and pray each morning, there are several blogs and websites that I go to for daily or weekly inspiration. These may be of help to you are we strive to be winners in a church that wins. These are not listed in any particular order. Some of the writers write daily, some of them write weekly, and some of them may go several weeks without an update.
The first one is written by Albert Mohler, President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. On his blog, he reviews and writes about current world events and gives a Biblical perspective to them.

The second one is Desiring God. This is the blog of Pastor and Author John Piper. There are also several other ministers from his ministry that contribute. http://www.desiringgod.org/Blog/
The third one is the Sovereign Grace Blog. It is written by Pastor and Author C. J. Mahaney.
http://www.sovgracemin.org/blog/
The forth one is called Worship Matters and is written by Pastor, Musician, and Author Bob Kauflin.

I hope that some or all of these will help you as we strive to be a church that wins.

A Winning Church Helps Others Win
A winning church helps others win. You can help three local schools win by participating in a prayer walk at each school this Sunday, August 22nd. Attend one or all of the prayer walks at the following schools:
Let's help our local schools win by praying for the faculty and students this Sunday.
- 2:00 PM @ Hoboken Elementary School
- 2:30 PM @ Brantley County Middle School
- 3:00 PM @ Brantley County High School
Let's help our local schools win by praying for the faculty and students this Sunday.
Get Your T-Shirts!
To promote one of the major truths of the vision (UNITY) of being a winning church, we are going to provide t-shirts for those that would like them. So, if you want a t-shirt please let us know as soon as possible. On the front will be our theme design and on the back we will be putting your name and favorite number. We want everyone to get one (children too), they are FREE. Remember Jesus paid the price for you to be on His team. To order a t-shirt, please email the church or use this Sunday’s bulletin insert to tell us your size, name, and number. The deadline to order will be this Sunday, August 22nd. Also, we will be having a "large" church picture made in our t-shirts out in front of the sanctuary near the end of September, following one of our evening services.
Don't Settle for Less - Let's Give Jesus Our Best!
“I have fond memories of a church that was open seven days a week, simply because people liked to be there. I can still see the cars that lined the street, students that were coming to our theological college, and the constant laughter in the foyer. I remember many visitors recount that when they first approached the building, they had a sense of God’s presence. As they entered, they saw joy and excitement on people’s faces. Often at the close of a service, there would be people in earnest conversation, others weeping, still others praying. Nobody was in a hurry to go home; they would rather linger in the presence of God with their church family. People hesitated to take vacations over the weekend, because they didn’t want to miss what God would do on Sundays as we gathered for worship. And God added regularly those who were being saved.
Sound too good to be true? Sound like something you have longed for? I have known times when this wasn’t true either. But once I tasted what God could do in and through a church, I didn’t want to settle for anything less. I have come to realize that God’s purpose for the church is much greater than many people have experienced, or even knew was possible. God has provided everything we need in Christ. What He has planned for His people is far beyond us; it is infinite in dimension.” (Henry Blackaby, Experiencing God Together)

A WINNING CHURCH!
Every year, around this time, I start to get excited about the upcoming football season. I look at all the moves my team has made, and start to think and hope that this is going to be the year that they put it together and win the super bowl. Most years, I feel like we have the team that could win it all, I get high hopes, thinking that the super bowl is within our grasps! Then, unfortunately, usually in December or January, my heart is broken, when my team's season ends. However, 4 times in my life, I have seen my team make it all the way to the super bowl, and 3 of those times they won it. Of course, I got all excited, and wore my t-shirts, and hats with pride! We reached the pinnacle of the pro-football season with success!
When I think about this, in my life, and in our church-life, it saddens me to think that I often overlook the excitement that can be gained through church. When you think about it, there are several similarities. We have a team put together (people of our church), we have a coach (Pastor Keith), we have a playbook (the Bible) and we have an owner (God). Ultimately we are all working towards the same purpose, like a team trying to win a game, we are trying to be a winning church. I believe a winning church is a church that desires to honor and glorify God in all that we do! Everything else will fall into place, if we first, honor and glorify God.
With this being said, let's be a winning church! A church that honors and glorifies God in all that we do!
