Pray to WIN! -- A Challenge to Pray

Read James 5:16b
By Nichole Boggs

Recently Keith and I went on a five day trip to Buchanan, Michigan. We took two planes going there and two planes coming back. To preface what I am about to say, you have to understand that this season in my life has called me to be in the home. And so, I am in the home most of the time. Sometimes I forget the reality of the great amount of people out there from so many walks of life that possibly have no relationship with our Creator and Savior. As I sat in the airport and in the big cities of Atlanta and Chicago and later riding on the busy streets, I saw people everywhere. So many people. Little boys and girls, teenagers, newlyweds, young families, grandparents, widows, and singles all going about life on what seemed to be just a normal day. A burden sat heavy on my heart and I began to ask myself how many of these people know the Lord I serve? How many have an intimate relationship with Him? Is the church reaching these people? Do we care? Do I care? Is it possible that we as a whole have become so self-centered and self-consumed that we are oblivious to the truth that our nation is turning its back on the precepts taught in God’s Word? People are dying every day and will spend eternity in a place that was not created for them. What can we do? One of our most powerful tools is prayer. Pray, believing God is going to bring someone into the Kingdom. Pray, that God would give us an opportunity to speak Jesus into someone’s life today. Not just encouraging words, but Jesus! Pray, that God would send revival in a much needed land. Below is a guide for a possible consistent and intentional prayer life that reaches to the ends of the earth.

“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:8
